Get Representation You ChooseThere are things home buyers can do to ensure that they are being represented by the Realtor® of their choice. A few simple steps protect you against procuring cause rules that can obligate you to a real estate agent you do not know and trust. Don't give up your right to the exclusive buyer agent advantage. Two Things You Must Tell the AgentTo ensure that you get to choose who represents you in the eventual purchase of the property, there are two things you must tell the agent present at an open house. As soon as you enter the property, tell the agent: "I am being represented by a real estate agent." "The real estate agent who is representing me told me about this property." You may then ask the real estate if he or she minds if you walk through the home. A professional Realtor® will probably say yes without a problem or questions for you. Other PrecautionsWhen a Realtor asks you to register, make sure you also write that you already have representation. If you are represented by The Home Buyers, Inc., for example, you would write, "Referred and represented by The Home Buyers, Inc." If You Like the HouseIn fact, if you like the house - or are uncomfortable with the agent or the surroundings - you can always make sure you're getting the exclusive buyer agent advantage. Just write down the address and contact The Home Buyers, Inc. immediately. We can set up a private showing at a convenient time. And, for time-sensitive matters, feel free to call The Home Buyers, Inc. at 952-920-2999. You can also protect yourself learning the two real estate rules you need to know.
