Lenders As Advocate - The Home Buyers, Inc. Realtors®

Start the Conversation

Choosing the right lender is about establishing an relationship and then learning some important things about policy and overall philosophy. These general questions will help you start the conversation.
  • What sets you apart from other mortgage brokers and lenders?
  • What subsequent financial or other planning services will you provide after the loan closing? When will you offer those services?
  • Do your mortgage services include financial benefits that extend beyond closing to encompass the whole time I own my home?
  • Will you provide a list of past borrowers or other references?

  • How will you ensure that I am reasonably protected and informed throughout the loan process?
  • Will you help me evaluate how the various available loan programs might realize the most possible equity if I resell my property?
If we have a dispute concerning our business matters together, will you require me to mediate these differences between us? In addition to learning how a prospective lender advocates for the home buyer - after you start the conversation, of course - you'll also want to know about the lender's policies about disclosure and how it handles closing costs and other fees.
